GIGABYTE GOOC 2009 - Online competition rules

Rules and regulations

A GIGABYTE motherboard with Intel chipset and an Intel CPU is required to compete.

Five (5) people from the online part of the competition are selected by our judges to continue to the final event where they will meet and compete with identical hardware setups. We will look at both FSB and CPU clock speeds achieved. The final event will be using the X58 platform and LN2 will be available. Details will be available soon. The winner from that event will go on to compete in the European final GIGABYTE Open Overclocking Competition 2009 with a chance to compete in the world final in Taiwan. Everyone that joins the online qualifying round has a chance to win prices.

  1. You have to use a GIGABYTE motherboard with Intel chipset and an Intel CPU.
  2. Last day to send in your overclocking result is February 15.
  3. You should fill in the form on the join page to join the competition and get information on how you should send your results to us.
  4. Your results will be e-mailed to us with details on:
    - Name:
    - Mainboard Model:
    - Serial no.:
    - Type of cooling:
    - Attach screenshot(s) as describred below. Example screenshot can be seen on the results page .
  5. CPU-Z validation is required.
  6. All details must be in one screenshot with :
    - Super PI mod 1.5 XS 4M completed
    - CoreTemp 0.96 or newer
    - 2 instance of CPU-Z with the validation number
    (one displaying cpu tab, the other displaying mainboard tab.)
  7. Dual channel memory only.
  8. Sharing of boards is not allowed.
  9. Disabling of cores is not allowed.
  10. If you are under 18, you can't win the trip to the European final unless you can arrange for an adult to travel with you (at your expense).
